There are 3 major film festivals that have gained worldwide recognition within cinema and the film industry and have established a reputation of glitz and glamour and an aura of to see and be seen. In January there was the Sundance Film Festival which takes place in Salt Lake City, Utah. In May of this year, Cannes, France hosted the Cannes Film Festival. The third highly anticipated film festival of 2012 begins on September 6th in Toronto, Canada. The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) has become one of the leading, premiere film festivals dedicated to showcasing the best international and Canadian cinema to those who appreciate film. There are many associated events during the 11 day ‘where seeing meets believing’ festival.

Social media and networking websites have become a vital and integral part of any business or industry and the film industry and its festivals are no different. Whether it is via Facebook, Twitter, or rising social media websites such as it is apparent that the hospitality, event planners and promoters and most assuredly the stars and celebrities are actively promoting various movies and events during these film festivals. As the increasingly popular events and party planning website gains in notoriety it is no surprise that some of these events are being organized and promoted on the events platform accessible to all in its active member base.

Some of the TIFF events publicized include Glitz and Glamour Breast Cancer Benefit TIFF 2012 organized by Touch Entertainment and co-hosted by MyShindigs itself.
