The National Healthcare Career Network (NHCN), co-founded by the American Hospital Association and Boxwood, announces the appointment of Carol Barber as its managing director, a new role for the NHCN. Barber has more than 30 years of employment marketing background, the majority of it spent with Bernard Hodes Group, where she held the position of executive vice president and was instrumental in leading the success of the company’s Healthcare Consulting Division.
AHACareerCenter.org, the American Hospital Association’s career center and one of NHCN’s founding partners, shares NHCN’s mission in combating the workforce shortage by aligning health care employers, trade associations and professional societies with the purpose of creating an online network of linked job placement, career advancement and development tools.
“To become part of the NHCN’s mission to connect health care employers with high quality talent is a true honor for me,” said Barber. “There’s already been phenomenal growth, a testament to how valuable targeted recruiting is to employers. I’m excited to help build on a very strong base of innovation and results.”
“Carol has been working with us on various projects over the last year, and her passion for high-quality results matches our commitment to providing the health care field with smart, cost effective recruiting solutions,” said Amy Goble, vice president, AHACareerCenter.org.
“We’re excited to have Carol on board,” said John Bell, Managing Partner of the NHCN. “We believe her knowledge and skills will help us get to the next level in developing products and services to address health care’s growing and changing talent needs.”
Barber will focus on building awareness of the NHCN’s wide range of customizable recruiting programs, identifying new marketing channels and developing a national sales organization.
