Digital Sports Group are today launching the PFA Profile of new Manchester United midfielder Nick Powell. DSG became the official digital partner of the Professional Footballers Association (PFA) earlier this year and have since launched a number of player profile fan pages on social media site Facebook as well as providing official player pages on their football news site football.co.uk. It was today the turn of Manchester United’s Nick Powell to see his official PFA Profile.
Powell started his career at home town club Crewe Alexandra, joining their youth system as a five year old. He made his debut for Crewe on 19 August 2010 in a League Two game against Cheltenham Town, which ended in a 3-2 defeat, coming on as a second half substitute for Clayton Donaldson at the age of 16, becoming the second youngest player to ever appear for Crewe. Powell joined Manchester United on 1 July 2012 in a deal reported to be worth up to £6 million, depending on success and appearances. He was allocated the number 25 shirt which was previously worn by Antonio Valencia, who took the number 7 shirt. On 21 July 2012, Powell played his first match for United, coming on as a second half substitute in a pre season friendly against Ajax Cape Town in South Africa.
Head of Operations at DSG, Matthew Tait had this to say “Powell will have no shortage of fans after signing for Manchester United after impressing with Crewe.”
“Of course a player with Powell’s talent requires a certain level of respect and responsibility and he is sure to be a major hit with fans on Facebook.”
Digital Sports Group will provide further PFA player profiles for every professional footballer in England as well as the latest transfer gossip and football results. The Nick Powell Facebook Page is now live.
