PETERBOROUGH, England (PRWEB) January 12, 2016
Author Nickola Engel has watched children interact with dogs for years in her job as a dog trainer and canine behaviorist. She has also heard many reports of dogs attacking children. Building on her expertise, Engel releases her first children’s book, “What’s My Dog Saying?: Keeping Children and Dogs Safe” (published by AuthorHouse UK), with hopes of preventing any future attacks.
The storybook is about friends Sam and Josh. Sam teaches Josh how to behave around dogs to combat Josh’s fears when he encounters them in the city park. “It teaches children how to behave around dogs and what to look for in a dog’s body language in order to keep them safe around each other,” Engel says.
She adds: “Throughout my years of training and experience, I found that for the hundreds of dog training books out there, there isn’t anything for children. For this reason alone, I decided to write this book as it is my firm belief that children should be taught how to behave around dogs in order to have a happy, safe relationship together.”
