Author Norman Verl Stones grew up in the Dust Bowl era and attended a one-room country school through the eighth grade. He attended High School in Red Cloud, Nebraska telling of some events that influenced him to this day. Stones also shares some genealogy data in his new book, “Experiences” (published by Trafford Publishing).

“I wrote memories to show how much change has occurred and items that impacted my life,” Stones says. “Future generations will have this history.”

Stones hopes the impactful events affecting the path of his life will be meaningful for readers the world over, including his grandchildren. He hopes that when comparing his life to their own, readers will come away thinking their own lives are actually OK.

“He finally said that he could okay a train trip to Florida to try out for the minor leagues. Dad did not to influence me one way or the other. It was too big of a step and I made the decision not to go. Of course one always wonders. It taught me that practice and persistence pay off. I never knew how pitching for hours and hours to improve would impact me later in life.”
