Northridge Launches Custom Viral Video Parody Featuring Innovative Facebook Integration

Northridge proudly announces the successful launch of its most recent and likely its most intricate custom viral video campaign featuring a unique Facebook integration.

As always we are delighted when technology can be used – even in parody – to help our commercial and nonprofit clients reach their goals, said Dottie Hodges, Marketing Strategy Consultant at Northridge.

Northridge Interactive is proud to announce the successful launch of its most recent viral video campaign featuring unique Facebook integration.

The viral video solution, likely the most intricate of the Northridge viral videos thus far, is a parody “featuring” Fox News Channel’s Glenn Beck. Northridge, in partnership with the client team, developed the functionality wherein a user enters the name of a friend or colleague, and a mock news video is then launched featuring the person’s name embedded throughout the comedic video and campaign website. The person’s name is fictitiously lauded as the progressive linked to Stalin, Elvis, Joe Biden’s cousin, and “the guy who came up with the idea of taxes” among other parody claims. The person’s name is populated throughout the video utilizing Northridge’s custom font and motion treatments.

This Northridge viral video solution also features innovative push-pull integration with Facebook, allowing users to connect the viral video customization to their Facebook community by pulling Facebook profile photos and Facebook data from their “Facebook Friends,” and then pushing the customized viral video parody out as published content on the user’s “Facebook Wall.” The video also features particularly innovative pan and zoom motions on Glenn Beck’s “blackboard” featuring the user’s photos, friend names, and other data integrated from Facebook with the user’s permission. In the first few days of its initial launch, the campaign has been met with immediate success totaling more than a million views.

”As always we are delighted when technology can be used – even in parody – to help our commercial and nonprofit clients reach their goals,” said Dottie Hodges, Marketing Strategy Consultant at Northridge.

Northridge’s nonprofit practice works with clients who represent a variety of ideologies and focus on issues across the political spectrum, on both sides of the aisle. Clients in this practice range from national to regional nonprofits and NGOs. Nonprofit clients include CARE, Goodwill Industries, Mission to the World, Natural Resources Defense Council, Smithsonian Institution, Southern Poverty Law Center, and Trout Unlimited.
