On November 4th, 2010, New York City's historic The Stonewall Inn will be presenting Singer-Actor Jared Philippe in a musical revue titled Beautoxed: A Musical Journey. The show is centered around his beloved dog, a Pomeranian known by a growing internet fan base as "Beau" (of http://www.beautox.me). Performances will be held on November 4th (Premiere) at 9PM, November 6th at 7PM and November 27th at 7PM.
Jared Philippe and his supporting cast will be performing beloved songs from the pop, rhythm and blues (classic and contemporary), and musical theatre repertoires. The supporting cast for Beautoxed includes Joshua Stephen Kartes, Tanner Bollinger, Jonathan Shew and iconic Greenwich Village female impersonator Chocolatina Q Dessert. Musical Direction is by John Bronston.
Jared Philippe is a Singer, Actor, Model, Writer, Producer, and Director who hails from Makati City, Philippines and currently resides in New York. He has appeared in numerous theatrical and concert productions in the Philippines and in the United States, most notably as one of the lead singers in the popular all-male high school singing group Kundirana, which has spawned many notable music artists in the Philippines. Joshua Stephen Kartes is a freelance composer, arranger, pianist, vocalist, musical director, vocal coach, and clinician currently based in New York City. Tanner Bollinger was recently seen as "Luke" on the National Tour of the Off-Broadway hit "Altar Boyz". Regional credits include "Footloose" and "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change".
Jonathan Shew was recently in "FRAT: A New Musical", and has performed on board a Bahamian cruise for Norwegian Cruise Line.
Chocolatina, Queen of the Dessert is the alter ego of pastry chef Martin Howard. Created in February 1996 for an event called "For the Love of Chocolate" where he did a dessert presentation based on the movie "The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert", about drag queens travelling through the Autralian outback. The statuesque "lady" has been appearing at parties and events ever since. In 2009, she won the title of Miss Stonewall Inn and appeared on their float in the 40th annversary parade of the Stonewall riots, where pride began. Martin Howard is currently promoting his soon-to-be-released children's book, "Tina Cocolina" published by Random House.
About the Musical Director:
John Bronston is the Associate Artistic Director of re:Directions Theatre Company in Manhattan. Writing credits as a composer include Fairy Tale (libretto by Joshua Robinson at NYMF 2008), Confessions Of A Reality TV Star (libretto by Joshua Robinson at New York Theatre Barn), and With Nothing But A Dream (libretto by Dana Leslie Goldstein at Ellis Island 2009). Some of his favorite credits: Pippin, Footloose, Rocky Horror Show, and Falsettoland (as a director), Carousel, Into the Woods, Rent, and Celebration (as a musical director), and Ain't Misbehaving, Hair, Fences, and Edward II (as a performer). He is also the assoc/sub musical director for the national tours of Smokey Joe's Cafe and Five Guys Named Moe and has musical directed many cabaret performances at the Triad, the Duplex, the Copacabana, and Tavern on the Green with performers including Michael Cerveris, Judy McLane, Trisha Jeffrey, Eden Espinosa, and Laura Bell Bundy.
