Novogradac & Company LLP, a certified national public accounting and consulting firm active in the low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC) industry for more than 20 years, will host its 19th Annual Affordable Housing Conference, an event which brings together investors, lenders, attorneys, accountants and other key contributors to the ongoing success of the LIHTC program. The event, which will take place from September 20-21 at the Westin St. Francis, will provide attendees with up-to-the-minute information on issues, trends and strategies relating to the LIHTC, as well as the opportunity to meet with developers and learn about the newest and most innovative ways that the program can serve potential interests.

“The Affordable Housing Conference provides an invaluable opportunity to interact with industry leaders, and share the latest information and strategies within the LIHTC industry,” says Jim Kroger, conference chairman and partner in the San Francisco office of Novogradac & Company LLP. “As dynamic as this industry can be, it’s important for professionals to collectively identify, create and share new strategies and solutions for the challenges facing this industry, so that we can continue to develop and preserve affordable housing.”

Richard Budge and Stephen Webb, partners at law firm SNR Denton, will serve as the keynote speakers for the event. Specializing in a variety of different aspects of the affordable housing development process in the UK, Budge and Webb will share their experience and provide valuable perspective on the potential challenges that can arise, from inception to completion. Mr. Budge specializes in all aspects of real estate development, acting for both public and private sector, land owners, investors, debt financiers, developers and contractors. Mr. Webb specializes in new settlements, urban extension and affordable housing, and has extensive experience with regeneration and residential projects.

The conference features a series of panels with prominent industry members selected for their specific areas of expertise. Among the more notable panels is a thorough assessment of the Community Reinvestment Act, featuring experts who will shed light on how both investors and developers can best identify specific high-need markets. Additional panels will provide attendees with valuable, insider information about topics ranging from opportunities for developers, strategies to reach specific demographics, valuation of future partnership interests and minimizing risk, as well as a change to learn firsthand about developer success stories.

Those attending the event will also be able to interact with prominent and influential industry leaders throughout the conference. In addition to several breaks held between the days’ sessions, attendees can chat with colleagues at the keynote luncheon, as well as two networking breakfasts and a reception, which be held from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 20.

The conference will also include two pre-conference workshops: LIHTC 101: The Basics and LIHTC 201: Beyond Basics, which will both be held on September 19. Registration is separate and additional fees apply.
