The National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) will be featured on Lifetime Television’s “The Balancing Act” on Friday, July 23, 2010 (7 a.m. EST and PST, and 6 a.m. CST). NRPA CEO Barbara Tulipane will provide quick tips and information about playground safety and NRPA’s “The Dirty Dozen Checklist – The Top 12 Safety Hazards in America’s Playgrounds.”
It is estimated that, each year, more than 200,000 playground-related injuries occur, and approximately 15 children will die as a result of a playground accident. NRPA is dedicated to promoting children's rights to play in safe and challenging environments, and is committed to providing materials and resources that, when coupled with knowledge and experience in eliminating safety hazards, will enable playground providers to establish a comprehensive program of playground management.
