Douglas W. Hatch will serve as Director of Employee Health and Safety/Quality Assurance. Mr. Hatch has more than 26 years of experience in the fields of Environmental Health and Safety, Quality Assurance and Health Physics. A Certified Health Physicist, he has extensive experience working in highly regulated environments.
Hatch will be responsible for regulatory compliance and quality assurance for all phases of MHF Services operations. He will provide interpretation of and compliance with US DOT regulations as well as ensure that MHF operations meet regulatory and industry standards for safety and security. He also will oversee implementation of the MHF NQA-1 Quality Assurance Program.
Hatch most recently served as Quality Assurance Director for EnergySolutions LLC's Oak Ridge, TN facilities. Previously, he served as EnergySolutions' (then Duratek) Project Manager and an ANSI 3.1 Senior Health Physics Technician on a long-term project for Duke Power's McGuire Nuclear Station. In addition to being an ABHP Certified Health Physicist, Hatch is a member of the National Registry of Radiation Protection Technologies and is both a Qualified Lead Auditor and Qualified Receipt Inspector. He holds a degree in Biology.
Also recently joining MHF Services was Michael W. Snyder, who will serve as MHF Services' Project Manager for Field Operations. He will be a key player on current and upcoming projects for MHF clients such as Progress Energy, Pacific Gas and Electric Company, DTE Energy, and AREVA Transnuclear, among others.
Snyder has 25 years of experience in the nuclear industry as a consultant and waste manager, primarily on decommissioning projects at commercial utilities--most notably, Sacramento Municipal Utility District's Rancho Seco Nuclear Generating Station and Pacific Gas and Electric's Humboldt Bay Power Plant. He also served for many years at DC Cook Nuclear Power Plant. He is a member of the National Registry of Radiation Technician Technologists; the Northern California Chapter of the Academy of Certified Hazardous Materials Managers; and a former member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers' Radwaste Subcommittee. He holds a degree in Nuclear Power Technology/Architectural Design.
