iHeart Touch Cardiology App in the Running for Best Medical Digital Initiative for Consumers Category

iHeart Touch Patient Education Hospital App

Ron Collins, CEO & Cofounder of Nucleus Medical Media, says,

The app helps patients understand how the heart works, and provides for a better understanding of the risks and benefits of common heart procedures.

iHeart Touch, a patient education app from Nucleus Medical Media, was chosen as a finalist in the 2013 Medical Marketing and Media (MM&M) Awards. An independent panel of over 100 industry experts judges the annual healthcare marketing awards, which culminates in an awards ceremony in October.

The iHeart Touch app features accurate, award-winning patient education animations to help patients learn more about heart disease, treatments, atherosclerosis, coronary artery angiography, coronary artery bypass graft, coronary angioplasty and heart anatomy.

iHeart Touch can also help hospitals in their efforts to meet new government regulations. One element of the Affordable Care Act focuses on reducing readmissions for patients with conditions like heart attack and congestive heart failure. The iHeart Touch app bridges the gap in patient-doctor communications to provide high-quality patient education that could potentially help reduce preventable readmissions.

“Health literacy is the main goal behind iHeart Touch,” says Nucleus Medical Media CEO and Cofounder, Ron Collins. “The app helps patients understand how the heart works, and provides for a better understanding of the risks and benefits of common heart procedures.”

The MM&M Best Medical Digital Initiative for Consumers category recognizes the best “digital programs offering consumers information, tools, education or promotion relating to diagnosis, treatment or management of medical conditions and ailments.”

Patients and health professionals alike can download iHeart Touch for free from the iTunes store. Nucleus Medical Media also creates custom medical animations and apps for hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, the education market, publishing houses, and more.
