The 4food Green Chart is a sustainable initiative -- promoting NYC healthy fast food -- launching Tuesday May 8th, that enables non-profit organizations with federal 501(c) status or pending 501(c) status to raise funds for their programs by creating, naming, and marketing branded burgers to their communities and members as well as 4foodi. Using Facebook and Twitter and 4food’s proprietary social tools, members can earn a $1 “royalty” for each burger sold. Participating organizations include: the New York Coalition for Healthy School Food, Sustainable South Bronx, Green Bronx Machine, Green Map System, Energy Info Tech NYC, and others.

We are thrilled with the response to the Green Chart, which takes the same ultra-viral path as the 4food BuildBoard Chart. Like the BuildBoard Chart, the difference being that 4food contributes $1 to the sponsoring organization for each green-burger sold

4food, Earth’s first socially networked and socially responsible healthy fast food company, announced the first 12 participating organizations in its Green Chart - a sustainable fundraising initiative, which contributes $1 for every branded burger sold to the sponsoring organization.

Over the next few days, the New York Coalition for Healthy School Food, YOUTH BUILD, Sustainable South Bronx, NW Bronx Community Clergy Coalition, BOEDC (GJGNY CBO), Thinking Animal, Green Bronx Machine, Green Map System, Association of Women’s Construction Workers of America, RUPCO/WRO, Energy Info Tech NYC, and Center for Sustainable Energy will be busy building one or more burgers to market to their communities and members as well as 4foodies, using 4food’s proprietary social tools as well as Facebook and Twitter.

"Participating in the Green Chart puts a new green location on the map and provides Green Map System with an innovative and sustainable way of raising some of the funds needed to make Green Maps that guide people toward climate-smart everyday purchasing, leisure and living decisions" commented Wendy Brawer, Founder and Director of Green Map System

Green burgers will first be offered for sale on Tuesday May 8th, and the first chart, which will be widely syndicated, will be published every Tuesday from May 15th, 2012. “Royalties” are paid to participants monthly. Organizations with federal 501(c) status or pending 501(c) status are eligible for the program.

'We are thrilled with the response to the Green Chart, which takes the same ultra-viral path as the 4food BuildBoard Chart. Like the BuildBoard Chart, the Green Chart ranks custom-branded burgers by sales - the difference being that 4food contributes $1 to the sponsoring organization for each green-burger sold,' added Michael Shuman, Co-founder and Managing Partner of 4food.
