When the Oakland Raiders Win It Really Makes My Week
Oakland, California (PRWEB) September 13, 2011
Oakland plumbers and drain cleaning specialists at Evenflow Plumbing of Oakland California anxiously awaited the start of the 2011-2012 NFL football season. Though the Oakland Raiders haven’t been to the playoffs since 2002, the year they went to the Super Bowl, these Oakland plumbers are part of the Raider Nation and they are always optimistic. The Raiders squared off against the Denver Broncos on 09/12/2011 at Mile High Stadium in Denver Colorado. Emotions ran high from minute one as the rivals played an extremely physical game with a few scuffles.
Gary Dimodana, owner of Evenflow Plumbing in Oakland, California feels that NFL Football provides fans a chance to forget about their day to day problems for a few hours and to enjoy a game. “When the Oakland Raiders win it really makes my week,” he says. Gary is not alone, many people in the Raider Nation feel the same way. Last night the Raiders played on Monday Night Football, which is a nationally televised game. This is important because the Raider games are frequently blacked out, meaning they aren’t televised in or around Oakland, California. Gary says, “I love Monday Night Football because it is the only game on and everybody is watching the Oakland Raiders.”
With the Denver Broncos having the home field advantage and having won the last 11 home openers it seemed like the odds were stacked against the Raiders and in fact they were according to Las Vegas betting standards. Both teams fought hard but the Oakland Raiders got the win 23-20, ending the home opener winning streak of the Denver Broncos. “I probably wasn’t breathing for that last two minutes, I really wanted the Raiders to get the win. When Campbell knelt down that last time I was off the couch screaming!” says Gary.
The fourth quarter was a nail biter with the Denver Broncos scoring a touchdown to bring them within a field goal with about 4 minutes to play. The Oakland Raiders were able to get some key first downs that allowed them to run out the clock. During the game Sebastian Janikowski kicked a 63 yard field goal which ties an NFL record for the longest field goal ever kicked during a game.
Oakland drain cleaning and plumbing service will be a little easier this week with the Oakland Raiders securing a victory and moving to 1-0 on the new season. “The season is just better when you can start off with a win,” says Gary.
