The Oakland Convention & Visitors Bureau announced today that it has made major upgrades to its website, http://www.oaklandcvb.com. The official online visitor center for Oakland showcases the best places to stay, dine, shop, meet, and play in Oakland.

The Oaklandcvb.com website, visited by more than 350,000 visitors and locals each year, has become an important source of information for those planning their trip or event

    "The Oaklandcvb.com website, visited by more than 350,000 visitors and locals each year, has become an important source of information for those planning their trip or event," said Manette Belliveau, Executive Director of the Oakland Convention & Visitors Bureau. "It's a 24-hour free resource for leisure travelers, professional meeting planners and locals organizing reunions and weddings. This latest upgrade adds both new content and expanded functionality to the site."

Updated features include:

-- New homepage, with navigation that invites visitors to Eat, Stay and Play

-- 1,600 new business listings, including quick links to maps and hundreds of images

-- Culinary tourism options, including food, wine, tours, farmers markets and "Best of the Best"

-- Expanded sports facility details, including those suitable for hosting regional events

-- Online version of the Destination Oakland visitor guide, with web links from both articles and ads

The website was designed by e-agency, the Oakland-based integrated marketing communications agency. The interactive maps and listings database were developed by MondoMap(TM).
