Our blog will be a push over the edge for the government to assume responsibility and take control of the situation
Vancouver, British Columbia (PRWEB) July 18, 2011
A Canada based organization, "Move A Little" has launched a blog to create awareness about obesity at http://www.movealittle.com. The aim of the blog is to bring attention to the problem of obesity which was declared as a 'global epidemic' by WHO in 2005. The organization claims that the governments of the world are not taking enough measures to control this growing epidemic.
At a press conference here, Kevin James, the spokesman for the group said that there are many identified causes of obesity, and in order to fight these causes government's cooperation and help is absolutely necessary. He further said, "the government is clearly aware of the link between junk food and obesity, but there is a strong fast-food and soft drinks lobby that is curbing all the efforts by individuals and non profit organizations to get a ban imposed on junk food."
He also said that apart from the causes, there are many dreaded effects of obesity that should be brought to general public attention. "There are many groups and organizations that are trying to create awareness about this issue, however, we are already very late in taking any solid steps. Our blog will be a push over the edge for the government to assume responsibility and take control of the situation," he remarked.
A post on the blog states that the organization will do anything to get obesity the attention it needs. The blog can be accessed at http://www.movealittle.com/.
