Obituary.us.org has decided to launch a series of customer service videos to explain the best ways to use and understand the obituary records they make available, company officials said yesterday.

“There are some questions that our customer service representatives deal with time and time again,” said company spokesman Josh Fraser. “We realized that if we created videos that answered these questions, we could free up some of our staff for other questions and concerns.”

The videos will explain what kinds of obituary records the company makes available, show how to read them, and detail the legal and ethical ways people can use the obituary records they purchase, he said.

“Obituary records are government documents and can be difficult for the average person to read,” Fraser said. “So, our videos will explain how to do that in plain English. Beyond that, there are various laws governing how to use obituary records, and we want our customers to have access to that information as well.”

The videos will be available for free on the company's YouTube channel, Fraser said.

“Each one will only be a few minutes long, but we will pack them with as much information as possible,” Fraser said. “We think that video is the future of customer service in our industry.”

Filming should be completed and all of the videos should be uploaded within the next two three weeks, Fraser said.

“We expect them to be a very popular part of our customer service efforts,” he said.
