I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to demonstrate The FeltLOOM® using the world’s most luxurious fiber. . . Alpaca.
Jersey City, NJ (PRWEB) May 10, 2011
Karen Chien, fashion and home accessories designer of Object Mythology announces that she will demonstrate The FeltLOOM® (http://www.feltloom.com), a revolutionary needle felting machine designed to allow its users to create interesting unusual fabrics and textures using loose fibers and rovings instead of yarn while at The Alpaca Owners Breeders Association (AOBA) National Show in Denver, Colorado this May.
Her company, Object Mythology, regularly uses luxury fibers such as baby alpaca to create a unique product line featuring handmade infinity scarves, fingerless gloves, and throws while creating positive social impact by creating work for disadvantaged groups in the Peruvian Andes. Baby alpaca is a luxury fiber known for its hypo-allergenic quality as well as being more durable, light weight, and easier to care for than wool. Its rising popularity with consumers, designers and enthusiasts will undoubtedly create increasing demand in the near future.
The FeltLOOM® is designed to allow fiber artists and designers to create products from their animal fleeces without having to use yarn. Easy to use, one can create interesting, unique, textural patterns and fabrics in minutes using a wide array of fibers such as alpaca, cashmere and wool. Founders and inventors Lanette Freitag and Don Bowles will be at the event to answer all questions about the machine. “We are excited to have Karen demonstrate The FeltLOOM® as we know that it will allow her to create an array of unique and interesting products such as scarves, shawls, and more which will be available for purchase at the show”. On Saturday, May 21, 2011, a 48 inch FeltLOOM® will be auctioned at the Prospectors Ball with proceeds going to benefit the AOBA Education Committee.
Karen Chien, designer and founder of Object Mythology says: “I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to demonstrate The FeltLOOM® using the world’s most luxurious fiber. . . Alpaca. This machine gives me the opportunity to oversee and create products and goods in-house allowing me to create fun, interesting products on a whim. The possibilities are endless.”
Object Mythology will also have a booth next to FeltLOOM® showcasing their luxury baby alpaca fashion and home accessories collection. For more information about the AOBA National Show, go to http://www.alpacaowners.com.
