Ocean Isle Beach's The Islander Inn Wins Excellence Award for Cleanliness
The Islander Inn has been awarded the 2008 Gold Star of Excellence Award by the Myrtle Beach Area Hospitality Association (MBAHA) for the hotel's high cleanliness standards.

On Wednesday, May 20 at 3:30 p.m. The Islander Inn will accept the award at the MBAHA May Annual Meeting, Awards and New Member Expo at Freestyle Music Park.

Established in 1998, the Gold Star of Excellence Award was created to recognize local lodging members who received no complaints for cleanliness for the entire year. Restaurant, food and beverage members were added to the competition in 1999 after the success of the program during the previous year. The goal of the Myrtle Beach Area Hospitality Association is to ensure a healthy tourism economy, educate both members and the public about industry issues and act as the voice of the hospitality industry.
