I have endeavored to recreate these historic ‘40s sounds, as well as combine vintage elements with a contemporary sensibility, to craft the solid sound of Stompy Jones
Oakland, CA (PRWEB) April 13, 2012
Oakland City Center will be holding a Swing into Spring concert with Stompy Jones on Wednesday, April 18 from noon to 1 p.m. at the Oakland City Center Plaza Stage. The Oakland City Center is Oakland’s authority on finding office space, business properties and seeking out the best places to dine via a thorough restaurant guide. This event is part of the City Center’s monthly concert, running from January to May, which is open to the public free of charge.
This rhythm and blues dance band will bring back the sound and feel of the ‘40s, and attendees will hear what music sounded like at the beginning of a little something called Rock 'n Roll. The small group band will entice with shuffle drumming, bounce piano and arpeggio bass lines. So anyone who is feeling bluesy should swing on out to the Oakland City Center Plaza Square and don’t forget those dancing shoes. It should be made a day of it, with picnic food and blankets to snuggle down with that certain someone, while enjoying the sweet sounds of a bygone era.
Stompy Jones says of the sound he will bring, "I have endeavored to recreate these historic ‘40s sounds, as well as combine vintage elements with a contemporary sensibility, to craft the solid sound of Stompy Jones."
