Poptropica players can make the most of their adventures on the popular virtual world for kids with tomorrow’s publication of Poptropica: The Official Guide.

The 192-page official Poptropica guidebook offers Poptropica fans a detailed walkthrough of the site as well as background on the Islands, characters and behind-the-scenes content. The book features sections on popular Poptropica quests, such as Wimpy Wonderland and Steamworks Island. A full-color wall poster is included so fans can easily display their Poptropica pride.

Poptropica creator and author of the bestselling “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” series Jeff Kinney said, “I’m very excited that we’re releasing our first-ever guidebook. When playing on our site, a lot of kids get to a certain point in our quests where they can’t figure out what to do next. The guidebook is going to help them get unstuck and to experience all of the great storytelling on Poptropica.”

To celebrate the launch of the Poptropica guidebook, kids can participate in a series of scavenger hunts beginning Oct. 13. The book provides tips for decoding the clues in this online hunt to win exclusive prizes for a kid’s personalized Poptropica avatar.

“Now kids can flip through the pages of this great new guidebook and see their favorite Poptropica characters on the printed page, discover more about their favorite Islands and use what they learn to delve more deeply into the virtual world,” said Jess M. Poptropica is a virtual world in which kids explore and play in complete safety. Every month, millions of kids from around the world are entertained and informed by Poptropica’s engaging quests, stories and games.

Kids create a “Poptropican” character to travel the many Islands of Poptropica and use gaming literacy to enjoy a narrative that is often rooted in factual history. Problem-solving skills are honed as kids discover and solve mysteries unique to each Island.

There are always new areas to explore in this ever-expanding world where kids can collect objects, read digital books and comics, watch movies, and compete in head-to-head competition. Parents can always trust that their children are playing – and learning – in a safe online environment.
