The ever growing Oklahoma City fall events are getting ready to kick off at the end of September. The Bricktown Hotel and Conference, one of the premier hotels in the OKC has released some updates on current Oklahoma City premier fall events that the hotel will be offering FREE shuttle service assuming a minimum of a one night room stay. One of the premier event’s in the OKC is the Oklahoma Regatta Festival is a four-day celebration of rowing, kayaking, dragon boating, stand up paddle boarding and family fun on the Oklahoma River. This year’s festival will take place Sept. 27-30 and includes the blū VIP Party, Oklahoma City University Head of the Oklahoma racing, OGE Night Sprints…and a family festival featuring live music, a children’s area, food from some of Oklahoma City’s best restaurants, a wine garden and a front row seat for all the racing!
The blū VIP Party consists of delicious food, live entertainment, streaming blue lights and a hip, relaxed environment. Blū has become one of the most exciting social events of the year. This annual night under the stars will be held at the Devon Boathouse in the Boathouse District on the Oklahoma River, Saturday, Sept. 29, 7p to 10p.
The evening promises a galaxy of extraordinary experiences, from fine food and wine to live music, stellar racing under the lights, and a fireworks extravaganza you’ll long remember. Tickets are $75 and are now available. All proceeds benefit youth rowing and the athletes of the Oklahoma City National High Performance Center.
The Oklahoma City University Head of the Oklahoma returns to the Boathouse District at the Oklahoma River, Sept. 29-30, 2012, with all the excitement you’ve come to expect from Oklahoma’s premier regatta. The race is held as part of the Oklahoma Regatta Festival, a four-day event running September 27-30.
The OCU Head of the Oklahoma includes 2.5 mile head racing during the day with key races acting as qualifiers for the 500m OGE NightSprints Saturday evening. Events include collegiate, masters, and junior rowing as well as kayak and dragon boat racing. Registration is open through September 20 on Regatta Central.
The Oklahoma Regatta Festival kicks off Thursday and Friday evenings, 6-10p, with the OGE Night Sprints featuring Corporate Rowing and Dragon Boat League racing. Racing continues throughout the day on Saturday with festival activities including live music, great food, the Olympic Experience, a children’s area and inflatable zone. Each evening will end with athletes and spectators enjoying fireworks over the river.
Cheer for local favorites – Oklahoma City University, University of Oklahoma, University of Central Oklahoma, University of Tulsa plus OKC RIVERSPORT masters and juniors – as well as some of the top teams from across the country. Past years have seen Harvard, Princeton, Stanford, Cal Berkeley, Washington, University of Texas and dozens of others competing for medals in a full weekend of racing excitement!
