Richard Arvine Overton is the oldest known living Veteran of World War Two in the United States. He recently celebrated his one hundred and seventh Memorial Day, and was interviewed by several reporters for his comments on his service of the United States, the war, and his plans for Memorial Day.

Overton is completely sound in mind and body as he still does his own yard work and tends to local horses. It is incredible to see an individual who have seen so much, especially one who have served out great nation in the United States Armed Forces. Overton served in the military and was a part of the War in the Pacific Campaigns from 1942 to 1945 at the end of the war. After returning home, Overton built his own home in Texas and has lived there happily ever since. He enjoys good whisky in his coffee in the mornings and sometimes at night, and often smokes up to twelve cigars a day.
