"Oncor's 2007 Take A Load Off, Texas Tour was so successful, reaching more than 300 consumers in four cities with Oncor's energy-efficiency message, that we've decided to expand the campaign in 2008," said Oncor Energy Efficiency Manager Michael Stockard. "Oncor is pleased to sponsor this tour designed to deliver energy-efficiency messages directly to the people living in our service area. By going on the road with the Take A Load Off, Texas message, residential customers across the state will learn straight from the source how to reduce energy consumption. Many homeowners feel that saving energy is a difficult or expensive task. Oncor will show them how taking small steps can be easy using our programs or making the improvements on their own."

At each stop, Take A Load Off, Texas exhibits and demonstrations will be available to educate consumers about insulation, lighting choices, filter selection and maintenance, air ducting and ideal caulking procedures. If consumers are unable to visit one of the Take A Load Off, Texas stops, they can go to http://www.oncor.com/efficiency to view seasonal energy-efficiency information.

"Energy efficiency is the best way for any homeowner to go green," Stockard said. "Using only the energy you need is something all of us can do, either on our own or through an Oncor program. Oncor's energy-efficiency programs are available to every resident of the Oncor service area, regardless of their retail electric provider. We want people to know that little things, such as changing light bulbs or adding insulation, are cost-saving measures that work and will contribute to overall energy conservation for Texas."

Final dates and locations for the remainder of the tour will be announced later this month.
