Our goal with CodeFest was to bring fun, cohesive and useful add-ons to market and that was certainly accomplished!
Las Vegas (Vocus) March 18, 2009
The first CodeFest at MIX, a four hour developer event presented by OneRiot and Internet Explorer 8 (IE8), concluded after several developers from different companies came together to create new add-ons for IE8, Microsoft's (MSFT) new browser platform. The highlight of the evening was the completion of an Accelerator by Shareaholic, a browser add-on extension company.
With the assistance from the IE8 team, Shareaholic was able to complete an Accelerator for IE8 that lets anyone share information with other services such as Facebook, Twitter, Digg, Delicious, and a variety of other services within the IE8 browser. The Shareaholic Accelerator also includes a real-time search component provided by OneRiot.
"For our first CodeFest, I was happy with the turnout and very excited the team from Shareaholic was able to finish their Accelerator and have it posted in the IE Add-on Gallery for everyone to start enjoying," said Robert Reich, founder of Add-on-Con and co-host of the CodeFest. "Our goal with CodeFest was to bring fun, cohesive and useful add-ons to market and that was certainly accomplished!"
The Shareaholic Accelerator is now available for immediate, free download in the Internet Explorer Add-on Gallery here: http://www.ieaddons.com/en/details/bookmarks/Sharing_Email_Bookmark_Tool/
