Online shopping market leader Multiply partners with Indonesia’s most renowned female magazine, Femina, to bring Indonesia’s female entrepreneurs online. Through this partnership Multiply will support the Femina Female Entrepreneur program, an annual program in which Indonesia’s finest and most talented female entrepreneurs are scouted and selected to then be offered diverse opportunities to develop their businesses further.
This year’s top 25 finalists came from various industries, such as food, clothing, education, financial services, consultancy, design, and event management. For the 2012 edition of the Femina Female Entrepreneur program, Multiply extends its support by providing an opportunity for the select finalists to also build and strengthen their online presence through Multiply’s full-featured social commerce platform. In addition, Multiply also bestowed two special awards to two finalists, Ligwina Hananto of QM Financial and Maretta Astri Nirmanda of Lazuli Sarae.
In Indonesia, Multiply.com is presently the largest online market with 85,000 sellers, 2.3 million registered users and 7 million unique monthly visitors. Having operated for a year and a half, the Indonesian office is Multiply’s largest operational unit. The Multiply team in Indonesia has been actively participating in educating the market on e-commerce and supporting the sellers’s community. Offering comprehensive online shopping features which enables social interaction between buyers and sellers, the Multiply platform also accommodates the way Indonesians transact by implementing payment methods ranging from bank ATM, e-banking, mobile payment and credit cards. Multiply also offers buyer protection which eliminates the worry of shopping online, even for first time users.
