High School Students Use Internet Connection at School to Play Online Games

According to PlayedOnline.com, a free online games site, top visitors to the site include Lincoln Public Schools and Montgomery Public Schools. Colleges and State departments are also amongst the site's frequent visitor list.

(PRWEB) May 21, 2007 -- After recently installing a new visitor tracking system, it was discovered that a large percentage of the visitors to PlayedOnline.com are students, playing games from their school's network.

In most cases, a visitor's network reveals very little of their identity, as it registers as "America Online" or "Comcast Cable," but when a visitor to a web site comes from a private network such as that of a school - they are identified much more specifically.

Top school networks to visit PlayedOnline.com include Lincoln Public Schools, Montgomery Public Schools and Elk Grove School District. College networks are also frequent visitors, with Springfield College, Lorma College and Leigh City College topping the list. Other notable networks include the State of Tennessee Department of Education, State of Delaware and Social Security Administration.

The amount of visitors from these networks is staggering. In the past month alone, Lincoln Public Schools registered 285 visitors playing over 2,000 games. Their favorite game? A remake of the classic game Tetris. Before the new tracking system was installed, it was observed that most visitors visit the site between 7am and 11am PST, but it was assumed that these were adults playing from work or from home. It turns out that almost 25% of the site's players surf from school and college networks.

PlayedOnline.com offers a collection of over 1,700 Free Games that can be played using any Internet Browser that supports Flash and require no registration.
