From President Obama’s speeches to the reports from the U.S. Dept. of Commerce on job growth, the spotlight is on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). We’re seeing a similar push from our students, so it was logical to add chemistry.
Baltimore, MD (PRWEB) November 01, 2012
StraighterLine (StraighterLine.com) announced today the expansion of their Simply StraighterLine Video Tutorials series to include College Chemistry. 44 College Chemistry are now available for free to students of all ages on YouTube, with more being added each week. Each short video features a simple explanation and step-by-step analysis of a specific concept or problem in chemistry.
Including the new College Chemistry videos, there are now over 275 StraighterLine Video Tutorials online. Subjects include College Algebra, Precalculus, Calculus and Statistics. New videos are being added continually covering topics from the StraighterLine online curriculum. StraighterLine students, students enrolled at our many partner colleges and universities, or even the general public can sign up for updates as new videos are added by subscribing to the StraighterLine YouTube channel.
“With the addition of chemistry, we are branching out beyond math to better support students in the STEM fields,” says Josef Katz, VP Marketing of StraighterLine. “From President Obama’s speeches to the reports from the U.S. Dept. of Commerce on job growth, the spotlight is on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). We’re seeing a similar push from our students, so it was logical to add chemistry when we wanted to expand our Video Tutorial Series. Plus, chemistry is a challenging subject. We hope these videos help make it easier for all students to understand the complex material. We welcome non-StraighterLine students to learn from this resource and to become more familiar with our approach to distance learning courses. The material in these courses lends itself easily to a video format and matches the format of our overall self-paced courses. Students can start and stop or review the materials as often as they need until they master the subject matter.”
