Now, it's easier than ever to gain the skills needed to lead a team of animal care and control professionals. Thanks to Humane Society University (HSU), valuable online programs designed for the busy executive are just a click away. Three upcoming online courses will teach participants everything from strategic planning for success and the essentials of fund-raising, to discovering how statistics, surveys and scorecards can lead to better decision-making.
Participants take required and elective courses (a total of 4 courses overall) to attain an Executive Leadership Certificate. Courses can be taken individually as well. Each course costs $99 and ranges from 4 to 6 weeks. The HSU learning platform meets the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements.
ONLINE COURSE: Strategic Planning for Success
WHEN: Online starting September 2, 2008 through September 29, 2008
DETAILS: In this four-week online course, lean how to strategically establish priorities and identify major organizational direction to produce fundamental decisions and actions that will shape and guide what your organization is, what it does, and why it does it.

ONLINE COURSE: The Essentials of Fund-Raising
WHEN: Online starting September 29, 2008 through November 9, 2008
DETAILS: This six-week online course is designed for the novice or seasoned CEO, Executive Director, Development Director, Board Member or Volunteer charged with raising funds for an animal control organization. The course guides participants through the process of developing and implementing a comprehensive fund-raising program that will help create a financially solvent and secure organization.
