Index Shows Falloff in Third Quarter 2009
Alpharetta, GA (Vocus/PRWEB ) October 23, 2009 -- Physician recruiting firm LocumTenens.com, operator of the largest job board for the locum tenens industry, announces the launch of the LocumTenens.com Online Job Index. The index includes data collected by LocumTenens.com since January 2007 and is a broad quarterly analysis of demand for locum tenens jobs based on the total number of active job postings at www.LocumTenens.com.
Jobs are posted to LocumTenens.com by healthcare facilities and locum tenens agencies nationwide. The index combines data from job postings for locum tenens positions and those that will consider either locum tenens or permanent.
LocumTenens.com's inaugural online job index shows impressive growth through 2007 and the first two quarters of 2008, remaining mostly flat through the second quarter of 2009, before showing significant decline in the third quarter of 2009. The index's third quarter 2009 decline of 27 points (a 19% decline) is still 15% above the index's baseline set in first quarter 2007.
