National Connections Academy is now International Connections Academy, a global, college preparatory online private school for students in grades K–12

online private school appeals to all types of students seeking a personalized, technology-enhanced education that is both rigorous and flexible

Open enrollment has begun for the 2013–14 school year at International Connections Academy (iNaCA), an accredited, online private school now serving students in grades K-12 in the United States and across the globe. Formerly National Connections Academy, the school has changed its name to reflect the ability of students to access its affordable, geographically flexible, award-winning curriculum no matter where they live—in the U.S. or abroad.

Hallmarks of the virtual private school include personalized learning, high-quality U.S. curriculum, state-of-the-art technology, certified teachers, and a secure easy-to-use online learning system. iNaCA students also have access to innovative electives and programs like Juilliard eLearning online music courses—developed by Connections with the famed conservatory— and the College Acceleration program that allows students to earn a high school diploma and an American Public University Associate degree in 4 years or earn college credits toward a Bachelor's degree through University of Maryland University College.

“Our online private school appeals to all types of students seeking a personalized, technology-enhanced education that is both rigorous and flexible,” said Dr. Steven Guttentag, Head of School for International Connections Academy. “Based on growing demand, we are formally extending enrollment to students around the world; changing our name to International Connections Academy. Students whose families live, work, or travel overseas have enrolled in our program from the very beginning, and more international students join us every year—this is a great next step for our program.”

Interested parents and students are encouraged to learn more about iNaCA by registering to attend one of the upcoming online information sessions offered by the school. These virtual meetings allow attendees to meet with teachers and school staff online, to ask questions and get program details from the comfort of home.

Online Information Sessions

Tuesday, April 23rd: 12:00–1:00 p.m. EDT

iNaCA students learn from home, or anywhere there is an Internet connection and work with teachers who are licensed and specially trained in online instruction. The school requires a Learning Coach, typically a parent, to monitor progress in the home, oversee daily schedules, and to help motivate students.

Students in grades K–12 can enroll full time or part time—choosing to take one class or a full course load—depending on their scheduling needs. iNaCA students can catch up or get ahead in summer school, enroll in electives that interest them, and choose when and where to complete each day’s assignments.

iNaCA students all over the globe have access to an award-winning U.S. curriculum designed to prepare them for U.S. colleges. Experienced school counselors guide students through the college application process, leading to acceptances at many outstanding schools.

iNaCA offers students exclusive learning opportunities, including:

Juilliard eLearning interactive online music courses that feature presentations and demonstrations by faculty, alumni, and students from the world-famous Juilliard School in New York City.

Online speech therapy with Connections Learning LiveSpeech and SpeechTails to help families decide what level of support is needed and to help students overcome speech challenges.

College Acceleration programs with American Public University System (APUS) and University of Maryland University College (UMUC) for students who want to earn an iNaCA high school diploma and an APUS Associate degree in four years or credits from UMUC towards a Bachelor’s degree.

“Our entire program is a great way for students to prepare for, or get a jump start on, their college career,” said Dr. Guttentag. “And our individualized student-centered approach benefits all types of students—those who are gifted, those who are struggling, and those who may learn better outside the traditional classroom.”
