Cover Band 2010 Video Contest Gives Vocalists, Guitarists, Bassists, and Drummers a Chance to Perform at a Leading Music Trade Show

Online video contest, Cover Band 2010 gives musicians a chance to perform at Winter NAMM and win free music gear

Direct marketer of music gear, Musician's Friend and industry partner Harmony Central invite musicians to enter Cover Band 2010, an online contest and win the chance to perform live at Winter NAMM 2010, the world's premiere music gear expo in Anaheim, CA held in January 2010. Seven grand prize winners will receive an all-expense paid trip, including entrance to the NAMM trade show, to perform with Karl Perazzo, percussionist for Santana, and other winners of Cover Band 2010. The seven musicians will also take home the gear used in their set, prizes worth over $40,000.

All entries must be submitted before midnight on September 15, 2009. To enter, contestants submit a two-minute video of their best solo performances in one or more of six categories: Vocalist, Bass Guitar, Electric Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, Drums, and Hand Percussion. The online contest is open to residents of the U.S. and District of Columbia who are at least 18 years old.

Winners and runners-up in each Cover Band category will win:

  • Percussion instruments from Latin Percussion and Toca
  • Guitars, basses, and amps from Schecter, Ovation, Takamine, and Genz Benz
  • Drum Kits and accessories from Gretsch and Gibraltar
  • Wireless microphone systems and accessories from Audio-Technica and Hercules
