Open Source for America Welcomes Continuent as Its Latest Member in Advocating Open Source in the U.S. Federal Government

Continuent, Inc. announced today that it has joined Open Source for America, a broad cross-section of more than 50 companies, academic institutions, communities, related groups and individuals that serve as a unified voice for the promotion of open source in the U.S. Federal government sector.

We are seeing an increase in open source usage in U.S. government, with National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) being a great example of an government agency embracing open-source software to lower its information technology operating costs, and one of our customers since 2006. For these agencies, data availability and scalability are an absolutely necessity.
