Optionshop, a new online futures broker specializing in futures options, today announced that Alan Knuckman has joined the firm as Chief Market Strategist. In this role, Knuckman is responsible for providing market commentary and futures options education to the online broker’s customers and partners. He also produces the Morning Market Stir, a daily futures market update video.
Knuckman, a technical analyst with 20 years of futures and options trading experience, has particular expertise identifying high-probability, limited risk trading opportunities. He has taught courses on options trading, options strategies and trading discipline to tens of thousands of individual investors, and he is a frequent market commentator, appearing regularly on CNBC, Bloomberg, CNN, First Business and other financial outlets.
“We are excited to have someone like Alan on board to help our customers learn more about how to use futures, especially options on futures, in their portfolios,” said Bob Fitzsimmons, Optionshop’s CEO. “With very high interest in commodities and the futures market in general, Alan’s unique ability to speak in plain English and to show how futures options can help investors find new trading opportunities is critical.”
Optionshop, which launches on January 7, 2013, was founded on the belief that futures options can be a better way for investors to gain exposure to markets, particularly commodities, than commodity ETFs or resource company stocks. Its online brokerage tools and services aim to make trading futures options as simple as trading equity options, giving investors the information they need to make more informed decisions and to find new opportunities that they may otherwise have missed.
Prior to Optionshop, Alan served as co-founder and market analyst for OneStopOption, as market strategist at financial publisher Agora Financial and as a commodities group president at WizeTrade, an electronic trading platform.
Investors who open accounts during Optionshop’s current pre-launch Beta program will receive commissions of just $2.50 per contract, inclusive of all exchange fees, through June 30, 2013. Sign up at http://www.optionshop.com/signup.
