DonateYourKidneys.Org Launched to Raise Organ Donation Awareness
DonateYourKidneys.Org web site has been launched to raise awareness about organ donation and provide potential donors with information on how to become a donor. It provides a discussion platform, which allows organ donors, recipients and their families to share their feelings and experiences.
Richmond Hill, NY (PRWEB) August 17, 2006 -- DonateYourKidneys.Org (http://www.donateyourkidneys.org) was launched today to raise awareness about organ donation. It was announced by Charles E. Gross, President of Land.Net, Inc., operator of the web site.
"Organ donation is absolutely the most direct way that one person may help save the life of another," said Mr. Gross. "With all the talk about stem cell research and waiting for the next miracle drug, organ donation is here now and it works. There are currently 91,000 Americans waiting for a kidney, a liver and other vital organs and that number increases every day. Our number one goal with this organization is to get the waiting time down to as close to zero as possible and educating potential donors is the key," he added.
The DonateYourKidneys.Org web site provides potential organ donors with resources concerning donation and the transplant process, including where to register to become a donor. It also provides a discussion platform, which allows organ donors, recipients and their families to share their feelings and experiences. Users may download a pocket organ donor card that expresses their desire to donate their kidneys, liver, heart or other specified organs.
