HugaMonkey Adds New Line of Organic Baby Slings
HugaMonkey baby slings is creating new organic baby slings and involving their customers in the process. Go to the site to vote on the organic fabrics you hope to see and you could win a free baby sling.
Orem, UT (PRWEB) March 13, 2008 -- HugaMonkey Baby Slings is adding organic baby sling carriers and letting you vote on which eco-friendly fabrics you prefer. As a thank you for participating, HugaMonkey will give away five free baby slings.

There are several different colors and patterns to choose from including organic cotton, solids and bamboo leaf pattern. Other organic fabrics include fabric made from bamboo, seaweed, and even recycled plastic bottles. Adding more than the typical organic cotton fabric was essential. HugaMonkey website super geek Clint Eagar said, "We wanted to offer many types of organic fabrics because there are so many awesome ways to recycle. Votes can be entered on the web site until March 20, 2008. According to Leah Higginbotham, part of the HugaMonkey team, "For a long time we've wanted to offer organic baby slings. All of us on the HugaMonkey squad are massive reduce, reuse and recycle nerds."
HugaMonkey recognizes how active the organic and baby wearing communities are and wanted to involve them in choosing the new fabrics. "The baby wearing and organic communities are very active. They love to share new ideas and enjoy finding new products that meet both their parenting needs, look fantastic and are environmentally low impact. So we decided to leave it up to them to tell us which fabrics they want. And as a way to thank them, we're giving away some baby slings," she said.
Baby slings let parents carry their child close to the body so they feel safe and secure. An organic baby sling is made of "fabric created from environmentally-friendly materials and fabrication methods. These textiles are organic, sustainable, and low-impact dyed." according to Robert Kaufman Fabrics. The result is not only making fashionable and affordable baby slings, but baby slings that lessen the impact on the environment.
Work at home mom Leah and friend Kira Mortensen make the baby slings. "We cut and sew each HugaMonkey baby sling," says Leah. While they are fun to make, baby sling carriers are even more fun to use. Leah has been using baby slings since her first baby who is now almost 6 years old. "When my daughter was born, I was given a baby pouch sling as a gift. Even though I loved the idea, the execution was horrible. It was too complex and hard to use. So I decided to make my own." Two kids and a few production models later, HugaMonkey baby slings are ready.
