The Board of Directors of Oriental Trading Company, Inc., the largest direct marketer of party supplies, novelties, toys and children's arts and crafts, and a leading direct marketer of school supplies and value-priced home décor and giftware, today announced it has appointed Sam S. Taylor as Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Taylor will assume his responsibilities on May 5, 2008. The Board of Directors selected Mr. Taylor after an extensive search that began in December 2007.
Omaha, NE (PRWEB) April 18, 2008 -- The Board of Directors of Oriental Trading Company, the largest direct marketer of party supplies, novelties, toys and children's arts and crafts, and a leading direct marketer of school supplies and value-priced home décor and giftware, today announced it has appointed Sam S. Taylor as Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Taylor will assume his responsibilities on May 5, 2008. The Board of Directors selected Mr. Taylor after an extensive search that began in December 2007.
Mr. Taylor joins Oriental Trading Company from Hewlett-Packard Company, where he led the company's global consumer direct business and the HP.com web site, present in more than 70 countries and 35 languages.

Prior to joining Hewlett-Packard Company, Mr. Taylor served as Senior Vice President, Online Stores and Marketing for Best Buy Co., Inc. Mr. Taylor has also held positions at Lands' End, Inc., where he led the company's e-Commerce and International divisions; The Walt Disney Company; and Bain and Company. Since 2004, Mr. Taylor has served as a board member of Shop.org, the digital division of the National Retail Federation.
Mr. Taylor earned his Master of Business Administration degree with honors from Harvard University. He graduated summa cum laude from Brigham Young University with a B.S. degree in chemical engineering.
