Stepping Stones is an excellent math program in both concept and execution. It tackles the Mathematics Common Core thoroughly and effectively. Bravo!

The Association of Educational Publishers (AEP) honored ORIGO Education with two Distinguished Achievement Awards (DAA) at the 46th Annual AEP Awards Gala. The Distinguished Achievement Awards (DAAs) recognize the best in a range of product types and resources used by teachers, parents, and students. ORIGO Stepping Stones won the DAA for Whole Curriculum, Mathematics and ORIGO Big Books took home the DAA for Supplemental Resources, Mathematics.

The AEP Awards program, which has been in existence for over four decades, is the most prestigious and comprehensive recognition program in the learning resource community. Products were judged in a three-tier process (educator review, professional review, and certification) with only the best materials advancing to the higher rounds. "Learning materials are a key part of education. But the overwhelming amount of options can make it difficult to find the most effective resources," said Eric Hamilton, Assistant Director at the American Museum of Natural History and chair of the AEP Awards Committee. "The AEP award seal, makes it easier for educators and decision-makers to find the quality products to use in the classroom."

The AEP reviewers commented, "Stepping Stones is an excellent math program in both concept and execution. It tackles the Mathematics Common Core thoroughly and effectively. It is a really well thought-out product and does a lot of things well. The developmental sequence of skills can be seen at any time to help teachers see where they are in the scope and sequence, and understand the impact of missing skills, and how to remediate. Bravo!”

ORIGO Education’s General Manger, Melisa Bartlett attended the Gala to accept the awards. Mrs. Bartlett states, “I am thrilled to accept this award on behalf of all the team members at ORIGO Education. One of the strongest parts of our program is that it relies on the decades of Mathematics research that form the Common Core State Standards. We know that our products are only as good as the people behind them. Thank you for recognizing and validating the tireless work of our authors and consultants, the creative energy of our design team, and the dedication of all our staff members.”

ORIGO Stepping Stones is a new elementary core curriculum that was written from the ground up for the Common Core State Standards. Stepping Stones is a blended digital and print curriculum that directly addresses the challenges that teachers face in the classroom. The program integrates key research findings in a practical sequence of modules and lessons to provide schools with a step-by-step approach to the new curriculum.

The ORIGO Big Books are beautifully illustrated, large format storybooks. Young students have a natural love for stories and for learning and the books build on that enthusiasm to help teachers introduce key mathematics concepts in Grades K–2. Each of the 36 ORIGO Big Books introduces and reinforces the essential mathematical language and are now accompanied by music.
