Florida holidays are about to hit the big time
(PRWeb UK) March 29, 2010
The fun begins in late March 2010! Universal Studios Orlando is due to spill the beans about exactly when their new attraction, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, will throw open it's doors. Youngsters and adults all over the planet are waiting with bated breath for details about the theme park in general and the new ride, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, in particular.
The Harry Potter theme park is set to become the most popular destination for Orlando holidays the theme park has taken three years to create. Set in the Islands of Adventure, it is packed with familiar sights and sounds from the books and films and will host three spectacular rides. They've recreated Hogsmeade village and set it against the backdrop of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Visitors can pick up Omnioculars and Remembralls at Dervish and Banges and grab Quidditch supplies while they are at it. There's Honeydukes, packed to the rafters with magic sweets including delights like Bertie Bott's Every-Flavour Beans. And there's a joke shop too, Zonko's, where consumers can buy exciting stuff like Sneakoscopes and Extendable Ears.
"We've been fielding enquiries about the Harry Potter theme park for the past two years or so," explains Harry Hastings, Ocean Florida's Director. "So it's great to finally be on the brink being able to offer a Harry Potter holiday to Orlando to all the Potter fans out there. We're fully expecting it to overtake Disneyland and Disney World Florida holidays in popularity."
Universal Orlando's website reveals that their main attraction, the long awaited Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride, will let visitors fly high above the castle and it's grounds, coming face to face with familiar characters from the films including the Hungarian Horntail dragon, giant Acromantula spider and the massive Whomping Willow.
With seven books under her belt so far and hundreds of millions of copies sold, J K Rowling's Harry Potter is a truly iconic figure, already as popular if not more popular than Mickey Mouse and friends. Harry Potter books are available in 67 languages. This success of Harry Potter and the new theme park ride will certainly attract increased interest and bookings for package holidays to Florida.
The films have so far delivered unparalleled blockbuster success to Warner Brothers. And there are at least two more films underway, the first due for release in November 2010 and the second, billed as the film series' finale, should be released July 2011.
"Florida holidays are about to hit the big time," comments Hastings. "They've always been high on people's list but watch this space... there's never been a phenomena like Harry Potter before and the new theme park is set to take the Orlando holiday world by storm."
