Osborne Industries, Inc., a custom resin transfer molding provider, is one of only three suppliers out of 500 selected as an Outstanding Supplier by Altec Industries.
“Osborne’s exceptional quality and on-time delivery combined with a cost performance that has remained under the industry’s raw material indexes propelled Osborne to being named an Outstanding Supplier,” said Ryan McKinney, the Altec Commodity Manager who presented the award.
The Kansas-based resin transfer molding supplier’s continuous drive to improve efficiency, quality and delivery since the firms’ first collaboration in 1985 has led to an on-time delivery rate greater than 95%.
“This partnership has provided both companies with opportunities to stay up on leading innovation, processing and applications,” McKinney said.
Osborne officials foresee even more innovation as the two companies continue their partnership.
“To date, most of what we have provided Altec are fiberglass-reinforced polyester molded platforms,” Osborne Account Manager Amy Conrad said. “The future is exciting as we begin to explore other opportunities with new materials such as Reaction Injection Molded polydicyclopentadiene (pDCPD).”
“It is an honor to be recognized by Altec as one of their outstanding suppliers,” said Osborne Industries President Steve Langley, who accepted the award on behalf of his company’s employee owners. “There are many employee owners who touch an Altec product before it leaves our dock. All are very deserving of this award.”
The Outstanding Supplier award is only the most recent honor for Osborne. Although based in a small, rural town, the resin transfer molding provider also was named the 2010 Kansas Governor’s Exporter of the Year.
