Sale-Finder Website Aims To Reduce Paper Waste

New website offers the first categorized sale-finder of its kind. Stores can post and distribute their sale flyers online instead of sending paper flyers through the mail.

Ottawa, ON (PRWEB) August 13, 2007 -- Two entrepreneurs have started small, but plan to significantly reduce paper waste with their new sale-finder website, CitySales.ca. The website, which just launched in May of this year, gives shoppers the power to find sales happening at stores in their area with a single click.

CitySales.ca is just local to Ottawa (Canada) at the moment, but the owners plan to expand sale coverage across the country and beyond.

Ottawa residents can find a list of local sales in any product category they choose with just a single click. For example, shoppers interested in deals at nearby grocery stores can search in the Grocery Flyers category, and someone in the market for a new couch can easily find furniture on sale in Ottawa. On the site, shoppers can view detailed information about the sales at Ottawa stores, including an online version of the sale flyer in most cases.

To shoppers who wish to be notified of new sales that come up in specific categories, CitySales.ca offers free weekly email notification of sales in just those categories.

The site was started by Anthony Fritz and Justin Clark, two entrepreneurs who realized that CitySales.ca would offer advantages to both business owners and consumers, and could also help the environment by reducing paper waste.

"Instead of spending money on paper flyers that most customers put straight in the recycle bin, business owners can get their sales in front of the customers who come to CitySales.ca to see them. So far, the feedback has been very positive." says Clark.

"Paper flyers are very inefficient for retailers in addition to being a tremendous waste of trees." says Fritz, "We believe that paper flyers are going to become a thing of the past, and we want to be part of making that happen."

To view available sales in Ottawa, shoppers can go to CitySales.ca and click any product category. Retailers can register their stores, upload sales flyers, and create coupons for free.
