Pennsylvania truck accident lawyer Daniel W. Munley focused on national legal and public policy issues this month as part of his active leadership role within the American Association for Justice.

Munley, Chair of the AAJ’s Trucking Litigation Group, recently attended a legal seminar on interstate truck accident and bus accident cases in Houston, Texas. He also attended the AAJ’s Public Affairs Committee meeting earlier in the month in Santa Monica, California.

“Being involved with the AAJ allows our law firm to stay on top of emerging issues that can affect our clients, and it also benefits our clients by allowing us to learn about the latest trends and strategies in accident litigation,” said Munley, a partner in the Pennsylvania personal injury firm of Munley, Munley & Cartwright, P.C.

Munley focuses his legal practice on representing victims of tractor-trailer accidents in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey and across the Northeast. He has helped victims to recover millions of dollars in compensation for their losses.

The American Association for Justice (AAJ) is the largest organization of trial attorneys in the country. The AAJ is dedicated to promoting a fair and effective justice system and protecting the rights of those who are injured by the misconduct or negligence of other individuals and corporations.

Munley is a charter member of the AAJ’s Trucking Litigation Group and has served as its chair since 2011. He has given lectures across the U.S. on how to approach truck and bus accident cases.

“These cases are very unique and must be handled in a very efficient and special manner,” Munley said. “They involve evidence, such as logbooks, that can be quickly destroyed, and they can involve multiple parties and complex rules and regulations.

“I think it’s important to share my own experience and insights in this area of the law with fellow truck accident attorneys. In the end, our goal is the same: We want to hold negligent trucking companies and drivers accountable and make sure our clients get the maximum amount of compensation, which they deserve.”

In March, Munley was appointed to the AAJ’s Public Affairs Committee. The group focuses on relevant policy issues pending in Congress and the issues trial lawyers would like to raise in Congress on matters ranging from tort reform to consumer rights.
