The Parent Communication Director plays a key role in ensuring quality of care and innovative treatment for the struggling teens and young adults that we work with. Rob is the perfect person for the job!
Hilo, HI (PRWEB) December 31, 2012
Pacific Quest outdoor therapy program is pleased to announce the promotion of Rob Jarrett as the Parent Communications Director. Pacific Quest is a unique outdoor behavioral healthcare program located on the Big Island of Hawaii. Rob plays an integral part in the Pacific Quest team by supporting families during the admissions process and providing transition updates during the early stages of a student’s enrollment.
Since Pacific Quest provides an alternative to traditional wilderness therapy, many of Rob’s responsibilities require an ability to answer programmatic questions and outline what families can expect in terms of communication and support throughout the duration of a student’s experience in the program. Rob is usually the first person a family will speak with once a student arrives at Pacific Quest, and it is at this time that Rob provides the family with a Parent Manual and preliminary homework assignments to complete in advance of their first phone call with a primary therapist.
Rob also assists with many of the Pacific Quest Parent Education and Support Workshops and maintains an up-to-date Parent Reference list to help streamline the admissions process. In his role, Rob works closely with the Family Services Director to identify parent “mentors” for future families to utilize for parent support, and to serve on alumni panels. Executive Director Mike McKinney commented, “the Parent Communication Director plays a key role in ensuring quality of care and innovative treatment for the struggling teens and young adults that we work with. Rob is the perfect person for the job!”
Rob received his BA in Linguistics from UCSB, and previously worked on projects with Stanford University and the US Department of Energy. Rob also has hands-on experience marketing educational programs, advanced curriculum, and behavior modification training clinics to administrative boards, schools, parents, and education programs. He is a proud father of three children, an avid backpacker, and has devoted much of his free time in recent years to the study of, and participation in, traditional Native American ceremonies and practices.
