Mental Training and Performance Coach and founder of PA Hypnosis Center, in Pittsburgh, PA, Dan Vitchoff is one of the world's most sought after mental coaches. His success at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China has propelled him to the short list of who's who in Mental Training for elite athletes. Vitchoff's unique approach to mental training, known as, 'The 33 Method' incorporates hypnosis, NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) and Innovations in Sports Psychology. Two of his athletes, Walton Glenn Eller and Vincent Hancock took center stage at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China when they won Gold Medals and broke four Olympic records. Jeff Holguin also turned in an impressive performance at the Olympics placing fourth and contributing to one of the best Olympic performances by the US Olympic Shooting Team in more than 20 years.
Even though the Summer Olympics only come around once every four years, Vitchoff's athletes are constantly striving to be the best in their sport. Vitchoff recently saw some of his clients advance to the 2010 World Championship team during last week's Shotgun Fall Selection Match qualifier in Kerrville, Texas. Vitchoff's athletes won five out of the available nine spots on the World Championship Team. Army Marksmanship Unit (USAMU) members Josh Richmond, Vincent Hancock, Jeff Holguin and Sean Dulohery secured their spots on the 2010 World Championship team. Vitchoff explains, "We operate on an expectation of success; these athletes have proven themselves to be the best in the world and we have designed specific strategies for each athlete to compete at the best of his or her ability even in the most intense competitions."
Dan Vitchoff, MS Ed., CHt., a Board Certified and Licensed Hypnotherapist, says, "Every day at the PA Hypnosis Center we help Pittsburgh areas residents successfully stop smoking, lose weight, and change other life habits using the same mental training techniques proven to work for Olympians, professional athletes, and competitive amateurs at the highest levels."
Pittsburgh resident Dona Weber is living proof of hypnosis weight loss success from working with Dan and with Catherine Dolgos (Catie), who is a Certified Consulting Hypnotherapist and Fitness and Nutrition Specialist at the PA Hypnosis Center. Dona had spent a lifetime on a weight loss-weight gain roller coaster. Today, having lost more than 96 pounds, Dona says, "I am a completely different person (because of PA Hypnosis Center)… I now exercise every day and I no longer think about if I like it or not; I just do it."
Dona, who once ate for emotional reasons, enjoys the healthier lifestyle that the techniques of weight loss hypnosis and mental coaching inspire her to choose. She says that as her friends and family have watched her drop pounds while also becoming more confident and more at peace with herself, they tell her they want what she has, an idea she encourages. "From the very first appointment I knew…my life was going to change forever… my life is improving every day."
Catie Dolgos explains, "What we do at PA Hypnosis Center is life changing, but there is no smoke and mirrors to it. Clinical hypnosis is proven as a powerful and effective tool for reducing stress and tension; increased memory and concentration; overcoming fears, phobias, and insomnia; public speaking; sports improvement; and weight loss and smoking cessation."
The competitive shooters who have now secured their spots on the 2010 World Championship team thanks in part to mental training with Vitchoff would no doubt agree that the successful application of these strategies is life changing. For Vitchoff's athletes, the 2010 Fall Selection Match is a stepping-stone in becoming eligible for the 2012 Summer Olympics to be held in London, England. The top three athletes in each World Championship event will participate in up to three World Cup competitions in which they earn points that make them eligible for nomination to the 2012 Olympic Team.
