PAINWeek Extends Accreditation to Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists

PAINWeek, the largest pain management conference in the US, returns for its 13th year. This September the Acute Pain Management track will feature the President of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists, Garry Brydges, PhD, DNP, MBA, ACNP-BC, CRNA, FAAN. He commented, “The field of pain management is constantly growing, and to stay abreast of the trends, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) seek continuing education in this area.” As such, PAINWeek will provide AANA CEUs, in addition to its 39.0 - AMA PRA Category 1 credits.

Dr. Brydges will present, within the Acute Pain Management track, Enhancing Recovery After Surgery: How Certified Nurse Anesthetists Are Improving Outcomes. “CRNAs provide holistic care to millions of chronic pain patients each year, and I’m excited about the new learning opportunities that PAINWeek is offering.”

The Acute Pain Management track will be presented on Wednesday, September 4, and includes the following additional topics: Acute Pain in Patients With Active Substance Use Disorder; The Dynamics of Managing Acute Postoperative Pain in the Current Opioid-Sparing Environment; and Case-Based Challenges in Acute Pain Management.

Also of interest to allied healthcare providers is the Advanced Practice Providers track which will feature Medication Assisted Therapy: New Opportunities in Treatment; No Guts, No Glory: Mystery of the Microbiome; Through the Eyes of an Expert Witness: The Importance of Chart Documentation; among others.

PAINWeek 2019 presents a diverse curriculum across multiple course concentrations: behavioral and interventional pain management; chronic pain syndromes; medical/legal issues; neurology; palliative care; and pharmacotherapy, along with over 30 Special Interest Sessions. There will also be programs presented by the American Headache Society, the International Pelvic Pain Society, and the International Myopain Society.
