Palomar Modular Buildings, Desoto, TX announces an accelerated Man camp program to inventory and/or pre-design Man camp units to include dormitories, dining rooms, laundry buildings and other support facilities. The purpose of this effort is to provide a faster response to the growing demand for immediate buildings in the Southwest. Oilfield housing operators are being encouraged to make their needs and specifications known so that the running inventory can be configured to meet these needs.

These buildings will be available fully furnished to include complete kitchens, Laundromats, workout rooms and more. All buildings are equipped with code conforming fire safety equipment to include alarms, sprinklers, rated corridors and other key safety features. According to John Martin, President of Palomar “We intend to be ahead of the demand curve and we want to make sure that our seasonal demand swings are smoothed with a year round supply of these buildings.” Martin stated that “we are doubling our workforce and production in the next 4 months to satisfy this market demand.”

In addition to this program for more immediate temporary housing, Palomar is preparing to build more permanent type dormitories and apartments complete with amenities. This need has been particularly acute in Eastern Oklahoma and Eastern Colorado. In several cases workers have been living in pickup trucks for weeks. There has been demand for standalone dining facilities in remote locations serving general working populations on a 24 hour, 7 day a week cycle.

Martin states ”we are encouraging our customers to be creative in site preparation so that support utilities can be connected quickly”. He states that some services to include telephone, Wi-Fi connections, and TV cable can take months to install. Generators, potable water and temporary sanitation are all being used to make buildings suitable for workers. According to Martin “we are in a new age for providing human comfort in remote locations.”
