SchoolReach Instant Parent Contact, a leading parent notification system for K-12 schools and districts, is now embedded in Pearson’s PowerSchool®, the industry-leading student information system. As announced and demonstrated at PowerSchool University held in St. Louis this week, the new SchoolReach for PowerSchool program will help schools and districts save valuable time and resources by providing direct access to the SchoolReach application while working within PowerSchool.
The web-based SchoolReach system is used by thousands of public and private schools across all 50 states. The school notification solutions of SchoolReach, allow school administrators to send a message to parents, teachers, staff and an entire community within minutes, announcing alerts such as school cancellations, lockdown notifications, emergency messages, absentee and lunch balance notifications, and bus route change notifications.
Since being designated by Pearson as an Independent Software Vendor (ISV) Partner in 2010, SchoolReach has continually expanded its system capabilities, utility and functionality to maximize the features of PowerSchool, according to Paul Langhorst, chief marketing officer at SchoolReach. “Through this partnership we were able to leverage the inherent features of PowerSchool, such as selecting students based on a variety of classifications and allowing parents to directly access and update their contact information,” said Langhorst. “This keeps PowerSchool at the center of the process and eliminates the need for parents to learn new passwords or maintain contact information in two separate places.”
SchoolReach for PowerSchool takes minutes to install, and since it relies on existing PowerSchool functionality, training is minimal. “Our District operations revolve around our mission-critical data housed within PowerSchool,” said Ron Spicer, technology coordinator at Affton, MO School District. “The more we can mine that data directly though PowerSchool, the more efficient and effective our operations become. We have used SchoolReach for many years and the new PowerSchool embedded integration is a great enhancement to the PowerSchool experience.”
The new SchoolReach for PowerSchool system is available for free to all existing SchoolReach customers that use the PowerSchool system.
SchoolReach is the K-12 division of St. Louis-based GroupCast, LLC, a broadcast voice, e-mail and SMS notification provider used by more than 5,000 schools in all 50 states.
