Membership in Parkulture's Amateur Freerunning and Parkour Organization has reached a quarter of a million members in just over a year. To mark this event and recognize the massive growth of the organization and the sport, the founders have decided to organize the first International Parkour and Freerunning Council. The council will be composed of professionals and recognized advocates of the sports worldwide who speak on behalf of their communities.

"Parkulture is about community and we need to give an even greater voice to our members." explains Rock Nakajima, co-founder of Parkulture. "By setting up the International Parkour and Freerunning Council we are trying to create a forum for leaders to speak on important issues regarding the sport." The council will take part in voting on agendas and issues brought up by the community year-round. Focus will be on legislative, insurance, safety and teaching, but the membership will be able to submit other topics for discussion at any time

The first set of invitations have been sent and a list of council members will be posted on the parkulture website in a new section.

Council members can be nominated by sending a email to contact(at)parkulture(dot)com and explaning why this person should sit on the council.
