The Grand Opening of the Paso Robles Swim & Tennis Club will be held on Saturday, July 18. The Club will be open all day for members and non-members, and at 4 pm the events will start - beginning with a ribbon cutting. There will be other activities for all ages, from a tennis carnival, to swim exhibitions, and many activities for kids including a clown and kite flying.

It all started with the dream of Kim and Kimberly Walker, a tennis-playing couple from the San Francisco Bay Area. They wanted to start a very special kind of club, and after looking throughout California to purchase one, they decided to buy 20 prime acres in Paso Robles. Located half-way between Los Angeles and San Francisco, Paso Robles is one of the Top 10 travel destinations in the United States according to TripAdvisor, and boasts a vibrant wine industry with over 200 wineries, including such brands as J. Lohr, EOS, and Robert Hall.

The location of the Club in central California makes it an ideal place for Statewide events, with plans eventually for national and international events.

Now, the Paso Robles Swim & Tennis Club is opening, after getting 12 tennis courts approved, 4 already built, and a unique swimming complex including a multi-purpose "L" shaped pool and a separate covered therapy and exercise pool. The clubhouse includes a second-story 360-degree view room for events, a picturesque cafe, multiple member rooms, a spa, and a fitness area designed for a wide variety of people, from casual exercisers to serious athletes.

"It's wonderful to see so many people already enjoying the club, and we look forward to this Saturday to officially unveil our club, and our vision," says Kim Walker, owner of the Paso Robles Swim & Tennis Club.

"Our swim program already is booming because of our pre-opening classes, and the new tennis courts are getting a good workout as we speak. We think a swim and tennis club though, is about much more than just swim and tennis, its about changing lives, giving people many options for activities, and living a healthy lifestyle - whether it's a family with kids, active couples, or single people looking to expand their horizons."

"Our Club is a state of mind," Mr. Walker continues, "You can come workout for an hour, or you can spend the whole day relaxing, its about doing something good for yourself and not feeling rushed about it."

Members are already joining, and because of the interest in tennis, a new online system called Tennis Exchange has been created to help members find other members. Also in the works is the International Wine & Tennis Network, sponsored by the Paso Robles Swim & Tennis Club. This too will be launched on July 18, at the website http://www.winetennis.com.

Says Kimberly Walker, co-owner of the Club and wife of Kim Walker, "Tennis and Wine go so well together, many people like to travel for both, and meet other people, so we decided this was a void that we wanted to fill - combining wine and tennis. We want to introduce all of these active wine-tasting people to each other, and eventually work with wineries and tennis clubs around the world. We are currently running tennis and wine events at our Club," says Mr. Walker

The Paso Robles Swim & Tennis Club is located at 2975 Union Road, Paso Robles, CA and the phone number is 805-239-7397. The website is PasoRoblesClub.com.
