This week’s top inventor received one less patent than last week’s number one spot holder, however, together the top 10 inventors secured more patents than the top July 17 patent recipients. The only inventor to make it onto the list both weeks was Shunpei Yamazaki.

There were three new categories to make it onto the top 10 list, but Physics - Computing; Calculating; Counting still holds to top spot it’s held since the beginning of the year. The top assignee International Business Machines Corporation had a huge week. Rebounding from a decline last week, the corporation more than doubled it’s previous total securing an impressive 195 patents.
