MedTouch Partners with Wishard Health Services to Integrate Patient Portal, RelayHealth, and Krames StayWell

MedTouch, the leading provider of web strategy and online solutions for healthcare, and Wishard Health Services today announce a signed partnership to design, build and integrate the Indianapolis health system’s patient portal and RelayHealth into a single site allowing patients access to the full continuum of their health care, where they can request appointments, view lab results, securely communicate with their doctor, and refill prescriptions. As part of the patient portal project, Wishard Health Services is also deploying patient education content and personal health management tools from Krames StayWell.

The patient portal is a huge step forward for Wishard Health Services towards improving access and service–one that is not only efficient and cost-effective, but will also meet patient needs in connecting with a primary care provider in their community. Through the RelayHealth secure health information exchange (HIE), patients can ask their doctors questions to better manage their care between visits.

Wishard will partner with MedTouch to create a holistic web strategy roadmap for the organization. They will work together on implementation of a new website and self-service tools for patients. While Wishard currently offers RelayHealth, the integration into the site and other internal applications provides a more robust experience for the patient. The new portal will both improve patient access to managing their care as well as provide the hospital with a more efficient way to manage the patient’s requests.

Wishard leads the way in hospital technology adoption in Indiana. In 2007, Wishard Health Services became one of the first hospitals in the country to utilize new electronic medical technology that allows primary care physicians the ability to check whether patients with certain conditions are receiving the recommended follow-up tests or treatments. The system, created by the Indiana Health Information Exchange, provides valuable information electronically for doctors to look collectively at their patients’ medical history.
